Just Shy of a Year

At first, friends were saying it's been months since you updated your blog. Then they just quit commenting. So after ALMOST one year I am going to try to get back on it. I love reading about my friend's lives, because it is so hard now to fine moments just to catch up on the phone.

I am inspired to jump back into the the Blog thing by all your wonderful post and pictures of your children. It would take a long time to sum up the last 11 months, but here are some recent pictures to get us started.

Our Summer was pretty much FLIPS, the Pool and a little beach vacation in between.

This picture is taken in the exact chair exactly one year ago....I can't wait to take one next year!

This picture will probably go down as one of my all time favorites!

Adventures with Animals

My Little World

We've been getting out and about a little more these days. This crawling/standing stage is so much easier for me. Caroline is much more interactive and it's fun to see her discover new things. Here are some pics of some of our new adventures!

Just a swing'in. A cool dolphin swing at JW Tumbles open play gym.

Caroline usually loves to crawl through tunnels etc...but she was more interested in the legos. Okay, did you check out the hair. It looks a bit like a toupey (never spelled that word before).

Mother Goose time at the library. Caroline has not been since she started crawling. As soon as the lady started singing the fun songs, Caroline started squealing and crawled right out of my lap right to the teachers feet and just giggled. She must be the center of attention! Wonder where she gets that?? Probably her Aunt Sissa :) Hee Hee

First time at the Houston Childrens Museum's toddler room. She LOVED these blocks.

Hey Mom, don't you think Santa could bring me some of these? I saw them at Lakeshore Learning store...hint hint!

She loved the mirrors so much I am hoping we can put some upstairs in our loft! C'mon dad!

Sleepy Girl

We had been planning to meet up with friends to visit yet another pumpkin patch and i was so hoping that caroline would get good naps so she would be in a good mood for the camera. We were to meet at 4 p.m. and by 3 p.m. little Caroline had still not napped. I went in to get her diaper bag ready and came back into the living room to find the little angel asleep on the floor. Did I mention we were just about to walk out the door? So what does every good mom do? Wake her up for my selfish picture taking!

Before the meltdown

During the meltdown-this is why I should have allowed her to continue napping.

I don't remember who it was, but someone suggested taking pictures of Caroline while she was sleeping. Because many sweet moments are when I can go into her room and look at her in the beauty of quietness. She always sleeps with her paci and her "Best Friend" ( a bunny given to her by our sweet friend Meredith Sipko).

She went from 5 months to 8 months ;)

It's been so long, I almost forgot how to post. Here are some pics from recent visits to pumpkin patches from Dallas to Houston. I just love pumpkin pictures.

I'm 5 Months

Getting Caught Up

So Chris and I have received a little flak from those who look at our blog b/c we have not updated it in a month. I would like to say that is true b/c I have been keeping an ever so spotloss house and cooking wonderful meals etc...no, just plain exhausted. Caroline is teething and her sleep schedule has been crazy, so mom has slept anytime she gets. So here is a quick recap of the last month.

You CRACK me up
I had put Caroline down in her nursery to play on the floor while I was cleaning up. When I came back in, I saw that her diaper had slid down a bit and she had a little peek-a -boo with her hiney. Not only did that make me laugh, but did you check out that hair!

I'm Stuck and I can't get Out!

Caroline is not crawling yet, but she has mastered rolling over or scooting backwards until she is under a chair or our ottoman. From the kitchen I could hear little screeches and I came in to find her under the furniture. She could not figure out how to get out from underneath it...so mom to the rescue. Although, not before I took some pictures!

Blogging Already
Caroline was so upset that I had not put any recent pictures of her (and she was not too proud of the Mt. Saint Caroline one) that she decided to blog on her own.

Mom's Tattoo

O.k. so I really don't have a tatto, but I recently had an allergic reaction to a band-aid that I had put on my face. I had taken the band-aid off in the morning and had not looked into the mirror all day. When Chris got home that night, he just laughed and told me to look in the mirror. Yep, I had been around town all day with the little imprint on my face.

An Eventful Day!

Mt. Saint Caroline Errupts Again...or not! Her first try at solids...

So, by the looks of this stuff, I wouldn't want to eat it either. I managed to get most of it in her mouth until she of course spit it out...or should I say spit it up! Yes, we've nicknamed her Mt. Saint Caroline for her frequent bouts of reflux. I'm sure in baby language she is saying "listen woman, how'd you like it if someone was shoving spoonful of goo into your mouth?" On a scale of 1 -1o (10 being the best) I say Caroline scored an 8 for her first spoon feed. We celebrated this momentus occasion by having our friends Melissa and Addison over to play.

Play Date

Our friends Melissa and Addison came over on Wednesday to play today and Melissa caught the cutest pics of the girls holding hands....friends for life! Caroline was so exhausted she took her first 3 hour nap. I kept going to her room to make sure she was breathing! I didn't know what to do with myself. I thought surely if I lay my head down for a nap, she'll know and wake-up...how it usually works.

The Nursery

Some of you have asked for pics of the nursery since it has been a work in progress. I didn't finish it until a few weeks ago. Props to Chris and his dad who put up the molding and chair rail. Thanks Sweety!
